L.S. Lowry has become world renowned for his unique style of portraying the industrial landscapes and people of the early 1900s.
The passion he held for his work was so intense that it has now been recognised as amongst the finest artworks in the world today.
As a result we have recently seen two paintings sold for over £5.6 million, and little sign of the demand for his work slowing down.
A genuine record of past times, first hand through the eye of the artist, whose main concerns were not the financial rewards that
could be gained through painting great works of art, but sinply that he felt a need to express what he felt and what he saw on
the streets around him at that time.
The life of L.S.Lowry was not an easy one, and like the people he watched and painted, there was a silent profound sadness within.
